Top five NFL teams in NFC heading into 2022

4. San Francisco 49ers

After battling injuries in the 2020 season after a 2019 Super Bowl run, the 49ers found themselves deep in the playoffs once again.

They fell to the eventual Super Bowl champion Rams in the NFC Championship game, casting doubt on the future of Jimmy Garoppolo in San Fran.

Even if Jimmy G starts for the 2022 season, I still think the 49ers are a top-four team in the NFC.

I think Trey Lance is probably under center when the season begins, and I still have the same confidence in the 49ers being really good.

They re-signed some of their own and brought in a few outside free agents. Their biggest move thus far was giving Charvarius Ward a $40 million contract.

The NFC West is still a really good division.  I think the Cardinals take a step back but are still viable and the Rams are the Rams.

Seattle is heading towards a full rebuild so the 49ers and Rams should run the show here. There really isn’t much else to say about them.

Kyle Shanahan is a good coach, they have several star players and should give the keys to Trey Lance.
