NFC North pre-draft roster grades

2. Minnesota Vikings – B

The Vikings get a slightly better grade than the Packers.  Kirk Cousins got another fully guaranteed extension, which is something, and the team was still able to add some quality talent.

They needed to get better along their offensive line, which they kind of failed to do.  Adding Jessie Davis and Chris Reed doesn’t exactly move the needle.  They are depth guys.

However, they were able to keep Danielle Hunter and signed Za’Darius Smith, giving them the top pass rush attack in the NFC perhaps.

They also added run-stuffer Harrison Phillips and linebacker Jordan Hicks, all while retaining Patrick Peterson.

Minnesota had a glaring issue on defense along the front seven, and they made notable strides to fill those holes.

They also re-signed their kicker Greg Joseph and punter Jordan Berry.  Perhaps this is one last hurrah with Kirk Cousins.

If they can’t make noise with Cousins, they might find themselves in a situation like the Broncos or Colts, where they have an overall solid roster but need a notable quarterback upgrade.

I do think, in the weak NFC, the team can win 9 or 10 games.
