Saquon Barkley trade no. 2: Los Angeles Rams

New York Giants receive:

  • 142nd overall pick
  • 2023 3rd-round pick

Los Angeles Rams receive:

  • RB Saquon Barkley

Nobody likes to wheel and deal as much as Les “‘F’ Them Picks” Snead and the Los Angeles Rams.

If there’s a star player available in free agency or trade, you can likely take it to the bank that the Rams are going to be checking in on the asking price.

The Rams made a running back trade last year out of necessity when Cam Akers suffered an injury that was miraculously not season-ending. They haven’t brought back Sony Michel at this point in free agency despite using future draft capital to acquire him.

I think a 2023 third-round pick, likely somewhere in the 90s, is bordering on inconsequential to Les Snead and Sean McVay by comparison to having a healthy version of Saquon Barkley.

This would not satisfy much in terms of instant gratification for the New York Giants, but having that additional third-round pick in 2023 could help in their eventual pursuit of a quarterback.

The 142nd overall pick could also help them this season as the middle rounds of this year’s draft are considered to be where the true meat of this class will be found.
