NFL Free Agency: One more free agent for each NFC East team

Washington Commanders – Kyle Rudolph, TE

The Commanders have a really good roster.  Don’t be surprised if they win this division in 2022.

However, they could use a boost with their tight ends.

Enter, Kyle Rudolph.  The savvy veteran spent most of his career as a Viking and spent 2021 with the New York Giants.

Rudolph isn’t going to light up the stat sheet anymore–well, he never did, but he was always consistent and reliable.

That’s exactly what Carson Wentz needs.  They’ve got a nice trio of receivers, but adding a quality veteran like Rudolph puts the finishing touches on what should be an efficient offense.

New York Giants – Jesse James, TE

Ok, I know the tight ends might be getting a bit old in this piece.

But the Giants are another NFC team that needs a boost here.

Jesse James has never been able to produce at a high level, but he’s a sound blocker with fine receiving ability.

The Giants could use this boost as a blocking tight end and as someone who can catch a pass or two when needed.  This wouldn’t do anything but help Daniel Jones, right?

Dallas Cowboys – Linval Joseph, DT

The Cowboys don’t exactly have a ton of talent among their defensive tackles.  So, for that reason, let’s give them Linval Joseph, an older but still talented run stuffer.

One of the biggest reasons for the Cowboys’ success in 2021 was the emergence of their defense, turning into a decent unit that forced a ton of turnovers.

Joseph can help keep that defense at a high enough level to where the offense doesn’t need to carry the team to wins week to week.

Philadelphia Eagles – Alexander Johnson, LB

The Eagles drafted Nakobe Dean in the third round, but they still need another reliable inside linebacker.  Their inside linebacking unit was among the worst in the NFL last year.

With a potential Dean + Johnson combination, the Eagles can rest easy knowing the middle of their defense is solid.

Johnson was insanely good during the 2019 and 2020 seasons for the Denver Broncos but fell off a bit in 2021 before tearing his pectoral muscle.
