The 2022 NFL trade deadline on November 1 is rapidly approaching and there could be some big-name players available…for the right price. Which teams out there need to make deals? Which teams could get considerably better by making some deals?

The NFL trade deadline is typically pretty anticlimactic but we usually will see deals trickle in throughout the weeks leading up to the deadline itself. We saw the New York Jets swing a trade for James Robinson, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars, after the Breece Hall injury. We saw the Las Vegas Raiders send Johnathan Hankins to the Dallas Cowboys.

What other deals could we see go down? Could we see some blockbusters yet? Again, there’s always a lot of talk about big NFL trades before the NFL Trade Deadline, but rarely as much action as you see in other professional sports leagues. What deals, then, can we at least dream of for today?

NFL Trade Deadline deal no. 1: Kareem Hunt to the Arizona Cardinals

Through the first seven games of the 2022 season, to say that Kyler Murray has been the offense for the Arizona Cardinals would be an understatement. It hasn’t always been good offense, but a lot of pressure has been placed on Murray’s shoulders as the Cardinals have dealt with suspensions and injuries left and right.

With that being said, Murray is the second-leading rusher on the Cardinals this season, only trailing Eno Benjamin by two yards. The Cardinals never saw a trade they didn’t like and the possibility of acquiring a player like Kareem Hunt at running back could be very enticing for them.

Hunt would give the Cardinals something they don’t currently have — a legitimate every-down back. Sorry if that offends any James Conner truthers out there, but Conner is best-served as a RB2. Hunt is capable of giving the Cardinals balance offensively. If they want it, that is.

For Kyler Murray to start living up to his massive new contract, the Cardinals have to continue being aggressive in upgrading their offensive weaponry. This seems like exactly the type of move we’ve grown accustomed to seeing them make year after year.
