Making a starting offense with remaining free agents: Wide receivers and a Tight end

WR1: DJ Chark

DJ Chark was once a second-round pick, Pro Bowler, and a 1,000-yard receiver.  He’s still just 26 years old and has insane upside.  He’s 6’4″ and has 4.3 speed.  He’d be a great pickup for any team who needs receiver help and I’m personally surprised he’s still a free agent.

WR2: Odell Beckham, Jr

Odell Beckham, Jr will eventually sign with a team, right?  He tore his ACL in Super Bowl 56 and has not been on a team since that moment.  He did win a Super Bowl with the Rams and is 13 months removed from that ACL injury.  Surely he can still function as an effective wide receiver on a team.

WR3: Marvin Jones

Marvin Jones is 33 years old but can still ball.  This past year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jones had 529 yards and three touchdowns.  He’s got a 1,000-yard receiving season under his belt with the Detroit Lions back in 2017.  There really isn’t much to not like about Jones.  Whatever team he’s on, he performs well.

Tight end: Irv Smith Jr.

The tight end market at this current moment is quite bare.  Teams who need a tight end need to focus their attention on the 2023 NFL Draft where the crop of tight ends coming into the league is quite good.

Irv Smith is just 24 years old and should have his best football ahead of him.  He missed all of the 2021 season and played in just eight games in 2022.  Just based on potential, I think Smith is the best tight end left on the market.

So, our fresh offense with remaining free agents is:

  • QB: Carson Wentz
  • RB: Kareem Hunt
  • WR: DJ Chark
  • WR: Odell Beckham, Jr
  • WR: Marvin Jones
  • TE: Irv Smith
  • LT: Taylor Lewan
  • LG: Gabe Jackson
  • C: Ben Jones
  • RG: Justin Pugh
  • RT: Billy Turner

Maybe a four-win team.
