The race to the top of the 2024 NFL Draft has begun
Even though the 2023 NFL Draft just ended, we can turn our attention to the 2024 NFL Draft and who could land the coveted prize. Right now, the top two prospects for the 2024 draft class appear to be Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr, and both players would have likely been the most talented players if they were eligible for the 2023 NFL Draft.
The race has unofficially begun for the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Teams certainly aren’t hoping they pick first overall, but there are a few teams that stick out that could easily be picking at the top of the NFL Draft next year.
They may have their choice between Caleb Williams or potentially a different player they might have in mind.
The race to the top of the 2024 NFL Draft has begun
Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals have the worst roster in the NFL by a mile and are going to be a horrible team this year. It’s not going to be pretty. They did land Paris Johnson Jr in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he can be a cornerstone piece along the offensive line for them.
Perhaps he is eventually going to be protecting Caleb Williams. That would be quite an interesting situation for the Cards. If they are picking first overall, would they consider dumping Kyler Murray in favor of Williams? Or even Drake Maye? Or someone else?
Washington Commanders
The Commanders are going forward with Sam Howell, but that could easily blow up in their face. I think Ron Rivera is a horribly overrated head coach and I would not be surprised if Rivera got canned during the 2023 season.
Eric Bieniemy would likely take over as the head coach and would surely have a great shot to be retained as the head coach, potentially getting a top QB prospect depending on if the Commanders are indeed a poor team in 2023.
Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans might be one of the worst teams in the NFL this coming season. They’ve parted with a few of their veteran players and just don’t have a good roster. I’m not sure Will Levis is going to be the guy, and if Levis does see some action during his rookie season, that might not be a good thing.
The Titans could be in line for the #1 overall pick. They have a poor roster overall and if their QB situation is shaky, they might have a shot at a top QB prospect next year.
