3. Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Chicago Bears
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears both broke out in 2025 and got into the playoffs. This year, we're seeing each team's QB play excellent football, and even both defenses are holding up their end of the bargain.
This would absolutely be a different Super Bowl matchup, and I think the league would welcome it, as it would feature two different teams that just have not had much playoff success this century. The big thing here with both teams are the excellent head coaches and QBs. In today's NFL, those two positions stand out more than others.
Both teams could also end up being buyers at the trade deadline to make a push.
2. Denver Broncos vs. San Francisco 49ers
The Denver Broncos lost to the San Francisco 49ers back in Week 4, but both teams are capable of getting to the big game. We've already talked about the 49ers, and as for the Broncos, this team would have likely played in the Super Bowl last year had QB Bo Nix not broken his ankle.
Denver is now 5-2 on the season and have already won in a similar fashion to their 2025 season, so the 2026 Broncos could end up being a repeat of what we saw last year, and with their schedule getting easier as the season goes on, Nix and the offense might be able to peak at the right time.
1. Buffalo Bills vs. San Francisco 49ers
The Buffalo Bills have years of playoff heartbreaks in the Josh Allen era already, and the defense has been flat-out bad, but you also look at this team and likely see a team that does have the highest overall ceiling of any squad in the AFC.
Buffalo getting into the playoffs is as safe a bet as you can possibly make across sports, so they'll likely already have that boxed checked off, and with no clear-cut contender in the AFC right now, why can't it be Buffalo?
Allen is an overwhelming player at times, and the Bills making a chance at head coach could end up being the one decision that ends up putting them over the hump.
