Being bold didn’t necessarily pay off in Week 1 of the 2026 season.
As for last week’s selections, it added up to a near goose egg. The Jets won at Tennessee but didn’t pick off Cam Ward. The Buccaneers didn’t upset the Bengals. And not only did Chargers’ running back Omarion Hampton fail to outrush the Cardinals, Mike LaFleur’s team stunned the Bolts at SoFi Stadium.
So it’s better luck this time around with three more potential shockers in Week 2.

Panthers outlast Falcons in overtime at Atlanta…again
Keep in mind that all four teams in the NFC South took it on the chinstrap last Sunday. That includes the reigning division champion Panthers, who scored 37 points and still lost by 22 in a 59-37 setback to the visiting Chicago Bears. Meanwhile, the rival Atlanta Falcons lost a tough one at Pittsburgh as Cooper Rush threw a TD pass to teammate Bijan Robinson and another to Steelers’ outside linebacker T.J. Watt.
As for this series, Dave Canales’s club has won three straight—including two in a row at Atlanta. Both of those victories came in overtime, and the crystal ball says there will be another five quarter game on Sunday.
Déjà vu for the New Orleans Saints vs. the Ravens
It wasn’t until their 16th game of the 2025 season that Kellen Moore’s club reached the 30-point mark in a game. In Week 17 at Nashville, the New Orleans Saints came away with a 34-26 triumph over the Titans. Last Sunday afternoon at Ford Field, Moore’s team rallied from a 21-7 third-quarter deficit behind second-year quarterback Tyler Shough.
The Saints would force overtime, the teams exchanged TDs in the extra session, and Shough and company wound up losing, 31-30, when they failed on a two-point conversion attempt to win the game. Moore’s improving squad scores 30 points again but falls short at Baltimore.
Broncos snap Jaguars’ 9-game regular-season winning streak
The only loss for Liam Coen’s team dating back to Week 11 of 2025 came at home to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC wild card round, 27-24. The reigning AFC South champions have now won nine straight regular-season contests, and by a combined score of 303-126. One of those was a 34-20 victory at Denver in Week 16.
Speaking of Sean Payton’s club, the defending AFC West title holders couldn’t look much worse than they did on Monday night at Kansas City in a humbling 31-10 loss. Trevor Lawrence and company played turnover-free football last week vs. the Browns, but that changes this Sunday in the Mile High City.
