Starting 0-2 in the NFL is not at all a season-ending thing, but when teams get to 0-3, that's when true panic may begin to set in. For the most part, though, the first few weeks of a given season can often lie.
The 2025 Houston Texans began the season 0-3 before finishing 12-5 and making the playoffs. The 2024 Denver Broncos started 0-2 before finishing 10-7 and getting into the playoffs. Even the 2015 Kansas City Chiefs began the year 1-5 but finished 11-5 and won two playoff games.
With all of that being said, that doesn't mean that every 0-2 team is created equal. Let's dive into a panic meter for each 0-2 team in the league with Week 3 approaching. We'll use a simple 0-10 range, with 0 being no panic at all, and 10 being the most panic...

Houston Texans: 3.5
We have seen this before with the Texans, as they just recently started 0-3 last year and managed to go 12-2 over the final 14 games. With how talented this roster is and how well-coached they are, it'll only be a matter of time before Houston gets this thing figured out.
I understand that the offensive line and run game have not yet come alive, but there are simply better players in both of those rooms this year than last season. Houston also went 0-2 in the 2023 season before making the playoffs after then-rookie CJ Stroud began to heat up.
Simply put, this team has started slow more times than not in this current era, so unless this thing really goes off the rails, there really should not be any panic at the moment. Houston gets a 3.5 on our panic meter scale ahead of Week 3.
