Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum? The Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars are leading their respective divisions, while the Los Angeles Chargers and Washington Commanders reside in the basements of the AFC West and NFC East, respectively. All four clubs won’t play this week.
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings, and San Francisco 49ers have yet to lose a game this season.
Finally, the winless Miami Dolphins return to the field after a week off. Can Jeff Hafley’s team do what the Tennessee Titans did at Indianapolis last Sunday?
Football food for thought in Week 7 of the 2026 NFL Season
Off: Buffalo, Jacksonville, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington
Thursday, Oct. 22
New England (4-2) at Chicago (4-2): It’s the second meeting in three seasons at Soldier Field between the first and third overall picks in the 2024 NFL draft. Drake Maye’s Patriots has won three straight since that 1-2 start. The Bears are obviously a much different team with quarterback Caleb Williams at the controls.
Sunday, Oct. 25
Pittsburgh (4-2) vs. New Orleans (2-4) (Paris): Both of these clubs are coming off road wins. The former came back from a 16-3 fourth-quarter deficit to win it overtime at Tampa. Kellen Moore’s team held off a furious rally by the Giants and held on for a 34-27 victory. Pittsburgh is 2-0 vs. the NFC South this season.
Cleveland (4-2) at Tennessee (1-5): Both the Titans and Browns notched divisional wins this past Sunday and in the case of Robert Saleh’s club, it was his first victory as Tennessee’s head coach. The Titans are not only winless in their own building this season, and own a dismal 2-18 record at home dating back to 2024.
Miami (0-5) at N.Y. Jets (2-4): The Dolphins return from their off week and are not only looking for their first win of 2026, the team seeks its first road victory since a 34-10 triumph over the Jets in Week 14 of 2025. Meanwhile, Aaron Glenn is still looking for his first divisional win as the Jets' head coach (0-7).
Indianapolis (2-4) at Minnesota (5-0): The Colts are coming off a stunning home loss to the divisional rival Titans, who were winless entering the game. The team cut ties with GM Chris Ballard on Monday. The unbeaten Vikings had a week off. Colts quarterback Daniel Jones (9 turnovers) needs to protect the ball.
Cincinnati (3-2) at Baltimore (4-2): Talk about a logjam? The Browns, Steelers, and Ravens all own 4-2 records, while Zac Taylor’s club was off last week. Meanwhile, the Ravens lost at the gun last Sunday at Cleveland. Baltimore has been outscored 56-35 in the fourth quarter and overtime this season.
N.Y. Giants (3-2-1) at Houston (2-4): No team in the NFC East has won a game since Week 4, and John Harbaugh’s team will get the first crack at it against DeMeco Ryans’s club. The Texans have scored 15 offensive TDs and allowed 15 offensive touchdowns, and have outscored their opponents 144-143.
