The NFL preseason is already underway, which means the 2026 college football season is not far from behind.
You can almost taste the pumpkin spice already.
All kidding aside, football season is officially upon us, which means we're going to be getting our first on-field look at the top 2027 NFL Draft prospects in the very near future. And the upcoming class of players looks loaded.
Our newest 2027 NFL mock draft is as much of a closer look at team needs, prospects who already stand out as potential franchise-altering players, as well as some intriguing fits early on in the process. We're going to use our most updated NFL roster rankings as the draft order, and we're going to take a look through the entire 1st round.
2027 NFL Mock Draft: Arch Manning, Dante Moore, and Jeremiah Smith top newest 1st-round predictions
1. Miami Dolphins: Arch Manning, QB, Texas
No matter how optimistic you are about Malik Willis with the Miami Dolphins this season, if they finish with the #1 overall pick, the quarterback position is going to be a primary reason why.
The Dolphins are giving Willis a shot to prove he can be a starter in the league after some really outstanding work as the backup to Jordan Love with the Green Bay Packers. While Willis is going to draw most of the attention this season -- understandably so -- the Dolphins have done a pretty good job of assembling young talent in the trenches on this roster.
Adding Arch Manning as the team's franchise QB of the future could really get GM Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley's vision for the future ignited.
2. Cleveland Browns: Dante Moore, QB, Oregon
The Cleveland Browns appear to be on the cusp of the most uninspiring starting quarterback decision in recent NFL history. Deshaun Watson playing this season would be a major indictment on the abilities of Shedeur Sanders, because the Browns truly don't stand to gain anything by playing Watson.
This team has raised its floor a bit with some major additions to the offensive line this offseason, but they are still in rebuilding mode as a franchise, an culture-building mode on top of it. They need (another) hard reset at QB, and Dante Moore might be the most NFL-ready player in this upcoming class.
3. Arizona Cardinals: Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas
We saw some really nice things out of Carson Beck in the Hall of Fame Game, and while that doesn't exactly mean he's going to be the Cardinals' future quarterback, he might be able to play well enough this season to get them to punt at QB for another year if they are left without a date to the dance.
A lot of their situation will depend on the development of Beck, the development of Marvin Harrison Jr., and how the QB class sorts out at the end of the year. But they can't go wrong with Colin Simmons, one of the top non-quarterbacks in the class and an elite defensive weapon on the front seven.
4. Las Vegas Raiders: Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State
Imagine if, in a four-year span, the Raiders were able to collect a core group of offensive players that includes TE Brock Bowers, RB Ashton Jeanty, QB Fernando Mendoza, and WR Jeremiah Smith.
When the season is over, this might look like a hilariously dumb prediction, meaning that Smith might prove himself to be the unquestioned #1 player in this class. But the Raiders wouldn't be complaining at all in this instance. He's got the type of ability to be an immediate top-5 player at his position once he gets to the NFL, and the Raiders' WR position is awful on paper right now.
