High-upside plays at wide receiver
1. Rashod Bateman
The Baltimore Ravens are dealing with the effects of that Zay Flowers hamstring injury in the only applicable way to do so in the league: the next man up philosophy. Well, it appears that Rashod Bateman is the next top wide receiver for the Ravens after he had a terrific outing in Week 2. The veteran pass catcher went for 88 yards and a touchdown through the air against the New Orleans Saints last Sunday.
This weekend, Bateman has another good matchup in what could be a historic matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in Brazil. Not only are the Cowboys struggling on defense again, although not as bad as last year, but the team is going into the game without several top defensive players after they were injured last Sunday. With Zay Flowers not practicing, several members of the opposing secondary missing and Bateman being the next man up in Baltimore, he is a high-upside fantasy football play this week.
2. Tre Tucker
Tre Tucker is perhaps the biggest boom-or-bust top option at wide receiver in the entire league today. One week he will disappoint in your lineup, and the next he will put up five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown against what many consider to be a good Los Angeles Chargers secondary and defense overall. There is no telling what Tucker is going to do on a weekly basis, but he is almost always worth plugging into your lineup if you are in need of a high-upside wide receiver option in any given week.
That said, Tucker has an enticing matchup against the Saints this week. Remember that defense that was just discussed with the Bateman entry, and gave up a lot of yards, catches and a touchdown grab last week? Well, one of the biggest boom-or-bust players in the league is facing that unit this weekend; as such, it looks like Tucker could be in for another boom game on Sunday and is a high-upside fantasy football play this week.
