It’s a position that has gained a lot more attention in recent seasons, and there were plenty of tight ends on the move this offseason. In fact, you will see one team represented twice on this list.
The following five performers all have their own set of skills. That includes one player who is one of the top blocking tight ends in the league.
Meanwhile, there is a very talented rookie who opened a lot of eyes at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this year.
Ranking the top offseason moves at tight end for 2026
5. Charlie Kolar (Los Angeles Chargers)
His four-year regular-season resume with the Baltimore Ravens reads 30 receptions for 409 yards and four touchdowns. But Los Angeles Chargers’ general manager Joe Hortiz gave Kolar a three-year contract for his blocking prowess. The Bolts have a new offensive coordinator in Mike McDaniel and a new-look tight end room. Kolar will have a big impact on the ground game, which is very good news for Omarion Hampton.
4. Kenyon Sadiq (New York Jets)
He was the second of three first-round picks by the Jets in April. Sadiq’s third and final season at the University of Oregon saw him haul in 51 passes for 560 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games. In his first two years with the Ducks, there were a combined 29 catches for 332 yards and three TDs in 28 contests. He should do wonders for a New York Jets’ team that finished last in the NFL in passing yards in 2025
3. Chigoziem Okonkwo (Washington Commanders)
A reliable pass-catcher for the Tennessee Titans the past four seasons, the 2022 fourth-round pick from the University of Maryland totaled 194 catches for 2,017 yards and eight touchdowns while not missing a game during his four-year stay with the franchise. He takes over for veteran Zach Ertz, who produced big time during his two seasons with Washington. A sneaky-good pickup for Dan Quinn’s Commanders.
2. David Njoku (Los Angeles Chargers)
The Chargers now have quite the three-headed monster at tight end with the aforementioned Kolar, emerging second-year performer Oronde Gadsden II, and this nine-year veteran. Njoku was one of three-first-round picks by the Browns in 2017. He was a Pro Bowler in 2023, but has been limited to a combined 23 games the past two seasons. However, nine of his 97 catches since 2024 have gone for touchdowns.
1. Isaiah Likely (New York Giants)
Reunited with head coach John Harbaugh, the 6’4”, 245-pound specimen was a big-play performer with the Ravens. He hauled in 135 passes for 1,568 yards and 15 touchdowns in 63 regular-season contests, along with 11 receptions for 176 yards and two TDs in five playoff games. The Giants’ offense will also benefit from the fact that Likely was Pro Football Focus’ 20th-ranked run blocking tight end in 2025.
