Unless something wild happens, the MVP of the league this year will be a quarterback, as that has been the case each year since the 2013 NFL Season. At this point, the MVP is a 'best QB award,' as that's simply where the league has been trending for years now.
As Week 3 of the season already begins, the MVP race is slowly going to begin to heat up over the next several weeks, and by the time November arrives, the MVP favorites will be rather obvious. As we have done each week so far, we have the latest installment of our MVP power rankings.

10. Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week: Unranked)
I am not entirely sold on the Philadelphia Eagles offense this year, as AJ Brown is no longer in the picture, but they're 2-0 through two weeks. The two wins have come in close fashion against the Washington Commanders and Tennessee Titans, so the wins have not exactly been great.
But winning is winning in this league, and Jalen Hurts has largely played well this year. He has five touchdown passes and a 100.7 passer rating through two games. If Philly keeps stacking wins, and Hurts can somehow find a way to get his production into what would likely have to be a career-best spot, he'd have as good a chance as anyone to win the MVP for the first time.
9. Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams (Last Week: 7)
Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams unsurprisingly bounced back in Week 2, defeating the New York Giants in blowout fashion. Stafford won the award last year, so there really isn't any reason to believe that he can't do it again.
Stafford is closer to 40 than 35 and might not have more than another year or two left, but his ability to process the game is still there, and his arm is still very strong. He's checked all the boxes for years, and while he's not ever been a major rushing threat, that also has never really been a part of his game.
With how star-studded the Rams roster is, Stafford's MVP chances are going to be strong until he simply doesn't have it anymore.
