The NFL season is officially under way, and we have already seen records break and historic moments occur. That is the way of football; records are made to be broken. That said, not every moment and record that was touched upon last week occurred.
Those will, once again, pop up in this episode. Here are the historic moments and records that could be broken in Week 2 of the NFL season, and like last week, there is a guaranteed top moment to take place this week. However, first, let’s have a toast to all those who set records and made historic moments happen in the previous week.
A big congratulations to Melbourne, Australia, for hosting its first-ever NFL regular season matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams and, speaking of that game, 49ers linebacker Fred Warner set the franchise record for most forced fumbles with the team, passing Charles Haley and setting the record at 18 and counting. Elsewhere, Derrick Henry ran for three touchdowns on Sunday, putting him third in all-time rushing touchdowns, passing Marcus Allen with his second of the day.

8. Pittsburgh Steelers forced fumbles record
T.J. Watt had a great opportunity to break the Pittsburgh Steelers’ all-time forced fumbles record on Sunday against a Tua Tagovailoa-led Atlanta Falcons squad. As fate would have it, Tagovailoa would get injured a couple of days before the game, leading to Cooper Rush getting the start in Week 1. Watt got to Rush on Sunday, but could not rip the ball out of his grasp.
As such, Watt sits in the same position he was in last week. He is two forced fumbles away from passing Greg Lloyd for the franchise record. This week, Watt will go up against Drake Maye, who could be rattled after collapsing on himself at the end of the kickoff game.
