Another week has flown by in the NFL, and we're already getting ready to say we're at the "midseason" point here in 2026.
It's absolutely wild to even think that, but things are heating up all across the NFL landscape.
Week 7 is loaded with huge inter-conference matchups, games with undefeated records on the line, and teams trying to scrape and claw their way back into the playoff conversation already. The NFL trade deadline is looming. This is a really important part of the schedule.
How does every team in the AFC stack up right now as we enter this pivotal Week 7? We're going to rank and take a look at the state of each team in the conference.
NFL Power Rankings, Week 7: Texans creeping up quickly; Colts, Chargers spiraling
16. Los Angeles Chargers
Even if the Miami Dolphins have an objectively worse roster than the Chargers, and are simply not 0-6 because of the fact that they haven’t played 6 games, the Chargers are easily the most disappointing team in the NFL this season. It’s not even close.
Injuries have played a role. Teammates have let Justin Herbert down. But this is supposed to be one of the toughest and most well-coached teams in the NFL. Where is the impact from Mike McDaniel as the offensive coordinator?
As of right now, nothing should be off the table for the future of this team.
15. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins were off this past week, but they’ll be back in action for a Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets on the road.
At this point in the 2026 season, nothing has been surprising about the Dolphins. They are showing some nice competitiveness, but there’s a clear talent gap in each game they are playing right now.
This is a roster that is not yet ready to compete on a regular basis, but the foundation is being put into place. Let’s see how Jeff Hafley’s team plays coming off a bye against an opponent they have a realistic chance of taking on.
14. Tennessee Titans
The Titans got their first win of the season in Week 6, a come-from-behind victory against the Indianapolis Colts that prompted the Colts to fire GM Chris Ballard.
For the majority of this season, however, the Titans have not proven to be the potential breakout team in the AFC we wondered if they could be throughout the offseason. The defense put them in position to get that first win of the season, but the play of quarterback Cam Ward has been a bit of a concern.
The Titans will give it the year to see if he can turn it around, but don’t be shocked if this team is in the QB market again after the 2026 season.
