Sometimes when you make dumb mistakes off the football field, eventually reason comes to you and the reality sinks in that you only get so many chances to succeed at the next level. Such is the case with wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham and his troubled past. In the 2015 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected him in the 2nd Round in hopes of giving quarterback Marcus Mariota a viable weapon come next season if he indeed ends up being their starting option under center. There is no question that Green-Beckham will absolutely take this opportunity and take it for all it’s worth.

It’s no secret that Green-Beckham has the skill-set to truly be something special. If Mariota ends up being named the Titans’ starting quarterback, there is no telling just what kind of incredible dynamic impact both will have making their rookie debuts in the NFL.

In his collegiate career at Missouri, Green-Beckham contributed 1,278 yards on 87 receptions for 17 touchdowns. With his speed and 14.7 yards per catch average, he can be quite the catalyst on a Titans’ offense that needed a jolt of talent and big play-making skills into their wide receiving corps.

With his past of marijuana use that saw him get not only arrested twice but suspended off his team last year, he made some poor decisions that absolutely hurt his draft stock. When it came to his preparation for football however, nobody could touch his work ethic. He would do whatever was needed to hone his craft towards flawless execution.

The Titans are giving him an opportunity to let go of his past and focus on the task at hand. He definitely has the ability to have an immediate upon come next season as long as he keeps his head in the game and focus on being a key contributor on offense. Best part about him is, his mentality is definitely on the right path.

In an article written by Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, here is what Green-Beckham had to say the night he was officially draft:

"“I know not a lot of people know what type of person I am. I know some of the things I’ve done bettering myself. … I was a young guy in college having fun. But now I have put that all in my past,” Green-Beckham said. “I want to continue to keep getting better each and every day. And to go out there and to win, and to play my heart out for my teammates.”"

Needless to say, he has the right attitude heading into training camps this summer. Everyone makes mistakes, especially when young but what he does to prepare for his transition into the pros will truly define his character and ability to bounce back while putting his image in a brighter light.

The Titans are in a rebuilding phase at the current moment in order to have quite the turnaround next season. With all the new talented athletes coming into the mix, the Titans know they want to make a big splash this upcoming season that shows they can indeed be a force to reckon with both in the AFC South and to the rest of the league thanks to all their new acquisitions.

Overall, with what Green-Beckham brings to the table, the Titans can live up to their hype and much more if everything gels accordingly. If Mariota starts and Green-Beckham gets to be unleashed to the football masses, there is no telling just how far this team can go in 2015.
