How the Browns Would Benefit

You’d think that parting with so many picks and a promising player would be detrimental to a team that has won a single game over the past two seasons. Fortunately, the Browns’ offseason additions should help them move the needle, like Damarious Randall to sure up the free safety spot, or the abundance of talent they added their offense — Tyrod Taylor, Jarvis Landry and Carlos Hyde.

Beckham would add another huge piece to the offense, also pairing him with his good buddy and former college teammate (Landry). That pairing would make them the most dangerous duo in the NFL. In fact, the 2017 NFL leading catcher has been campaigning for the Browns to get OBJ.

Beckham is a seamless fit, he’ll play the boundary along with Josh Gordon, while Landry fills the slot spot. Taylor would have a trio of wideouts , in addition to the dynamic David Njoku at tight end. Their offensive core would rival that of the Pittsburgh Steelers’. Additionally, they could still get their quarterback of the future with the first overall pick, whoever that may be.

Plus, they’ll have three second-round picks and a couple of fourth-rounders to add the necessary pieces to their roster to ensure their success. Undoubtedly the running game will open up for Hyde and Duke Johnson, who are both capable backs with the former being more of a downhill runner. There’s no doubt that, with the addition of Beckham, the Browns would easily wim 7+ games and finally reach some status of respectability.

This is a move that the Browns should make and not think twice about it. They are a team on the rise, who have seemingly added the players talented enough to help them win now and into the future. Adding a dynamic threat like Beckham would make them that much greater.

For the Giants, Beckham’s antics should be a cautionary sign of what he may be like as a $100+ million player. They are in a weird place where Manning could have a lot in the tank but they should also be looking to rebuild now. It doesn’t mean they have to sacrifice games but to get that many valuable picks, especially the No. 4 overall would be fantastic. This trade may never happen, and both teams will go on, but it’s an avenue worth exploring. The end result might surprise you, for now, we’ll just have wait and see what happens.
