Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Wide Receiver

Last week, Marquez Valdes-Scantling had a nice catch on a beautifully run go-route late in the game. Before that, MVS ran the wrong route that almost ended in six the other way. Rodgers voiced his displeasure for the rookie. Valdes-Scantling will have to step up once again this week as Randall Cobb has already been ruled out; the second week in a row.

His workload might increase even more this week. The other two starting receivers are dealing with injuries as well. Geronimo Allison is in concussion protocol while Davante Adams is nursing a calf injury. If Adams and/or Allison can’t go, the other rookie wideouts, J’Mon Moore and Equanimeous St. Brown, will have an increased workload as well.

Oh, don’t forget that Jimmy Graham has been on the injury report too. He was taken off on Friday as well, but he has been dealing with a bum knee.

Either way, Valdes-Scantling leads a trio of rookies that will get their chance on Sunday. He is a player to watch as the Green Bay Packers hope to see some production from the three while the veterans deal with injuries. Hopefully, we don’t see any wrong routes run from MVS or anyone else. He almost cost Rodgers a pick-six.

If any play is made like that on Sunday in Week 5, the Lions will make the Packers pay.
