3. Nagy uses experience to advantage

One of the best decisions the Bears made during the 2018 offseason was their decision to move on from John Fox since the former head coach just couldn’t seem to figure out a way to get the team out of the basement of the NFC North.

Winning a combined 14 games in three seasons is just one of many examples behind the frustration surrounding Fox as head coach, but at least Nagy wasted little time helping Chicago live up to their true potential.

After looking at his previous success as offensive coordinator with the Kansas City Chiefs, it was easy to understand the excitement from the Bears in hiring Nagy as their new head coach once Fox was officially out of the picture.

Normally, a new head coach sometimes needs a season or two to make the necessary adjustments for their new team, but watching Nagy lead Chicago to a playoff berth in year one shows the team made the right decision.

One can only imagine how different the playoffs would have turned out last winter if it wasn’t for that missed field goal against the Eagles, but at least Nagy now knows what it’s like to be a head coach in the playoffs.

This may not seem like the biggest deal in the world, but this accomplishment from last season of making the playoffs for the first time as head coach will actually take a ton of pressure off Nagy.
