3. Taylor exceeds all expectations in first year
As mentioned before, the decision to finally move on from Lewis after all those years seemed long overdue for a team like the Bengals, but all that matters moving forward is how the team responds.

Many questioned the decision by Cincinnati to go with a much younger new head coach in Taylor, but with the coaching tree Sean McVay is already putting together, this seems like a risk that could potentially work wonders.
After playing a key role in helping Jared Goff take another step in 2018 as quarterbacks coach, the Bengals would love nothing more than to see Taylor do the same with Andy Dalton since the Cincinnati quarterback is facing more pressure than ever.
Just how much pressure will Dalton be facing in 2019? Well, the fact that Cincinnati seemed to be weighing out potential new quarterback options for Taylor to work with shows why this upcoming season will be extremely important for Dalton.
At least with Taylor part of the picture, and his strong reputation of having what it takes to help get the best from quarterbacks, the Bengals should feel confident about their new head coach’s ability to shock the NFL world in 2019 by making Cincinnati a strong contender again.
This may sound like a long shot to consider, but after seeing some of the previous success from first-year head coaches over the years, including McVay in 2017, but it’s certainly possible with Taylor.
