3. No interceptions by Jones in preseason

In what shouldn’t have come as a surprise at all since Jones could use all of the extra experience possible, the Giants rookie ended up seeing action in all four preseason games throughout the month of August.

Like most rookies, Jones still has plenty of areas in need of improvement before he’s anywhere close to being on the level New York needs him to be on, but at least the preseason shows there’s plenty to build on.

While there were plenty of impressive takeaways from Jones, the fact that he went all four games without an interception shows how smart the rookie was with the football, and didn’t make too many poor decisions when on the field.

Sure, the two fumbles in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears were difficult to watch, but also this can be used as a learning experience.

Plus, if last season is any indication of what to expect, the Bears should have one of the top defenses in the NFL once again during the 2019 season, meaning this matchup was a good test for Jones.

Protecting the football is always key, and while that first interception is going to come at some point since it’s unavoidable, nothing can take away from the fact that Jones didn’t record one during preseason this year.
