Madden 21: 8 NFL players who deserve a 99 rating
8. Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Perhaps because he doesn’t get into the end zone as much as many fantasy football owners would prefer, it feels like Julio Jones is often underrated. But when you look at his consistency, production and talent, that’s absolutely absurd.
Over the past six seasons, Jones has played in 92 games and has hauled in 623 receptions with a 64.2 percent catch rate for 9,388 yards and 37 touchdowns. For those keeping track at home, the Atlanta Falcons star is averaging over 100 receiving yards per game over that span.

With his ability to win in every situation and all levels of the field, Jones is virtually unguardable when healthy. To me, that’s the type of player deserving of getting a 99 rating on Madden 21. The video game is all about matchup nightmares and no one is scarier than Jones at wide receiver.
7. Stephon Gilmore, CB, New England Patriots
The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year probably deserves to get a 99 overall rating on Madden 21, right? Stephon Gilmore has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL for quite some time. But he became arguably the top player at the position this past season.
Gilmore was virtually impenetrable in terms of dropping into coverage. He posted a career-high six interceptions and tied his career-high with 20 passes defensed. He also returned two picks for touchdowns and registered 53 total tackles as well.
While there are a number of extremely talented cornerbacks in the NFL, none deserve a 99 more than the New England Patriots star. Gilmore is the cream of the crop and needs to be rated as such.
