2. Favorable home schedule will play into Falcons’ favor

In 2019, the Falcons weren’t that great at home in Atlanta, which is typically an unusual thing to see from any team in the league. In the eight-game slate of contests during the regular season a year ago, Atlanta went just 2-6 in front of its home crowd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

During the 2020 campaign, that will change and will help position Atlanta into the running for a playoff spot by the end of the year.

Although it will be interesting to see how various teams around the league perform this season with either no fans or a limited amount of fans in the stands, the Falcons still have a favorable schedule when it comes to games being played on their home field.

In the eight home games in 2020, Atlanta will take on opponents such as the Seattle Seahawks (Week 1), Chicago Bears (Week 3), Carolina Panthers (Week 5), Detroit Lions (Week 7), Denver Broncos (Week 9), Las Vegas Raiders (Week 12), New Orleans Saints (Week 13) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 15).

Although the games within the NFC South division will be tough no matter where the games are being played, the Falcons do have some matchups in there where they will be favored going into the contests and should be able to improve on the 2-6 record at home like they had in 2019.

Given the mix of games taking place on its home field this season and the favorable schedule that it is for Atlanta, the Falcons will use that in order to ultimately return to the playoffs in 2020.
