To say it was a wild Week 5 in the National Football League would be an understatement. There were three overtime games, but only two teams emerged with a victory in the extra session. There were also some less-than-memorable moments for a couple of clubs who forgot basic clock management.

This week, the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and Minesota Vikings get some time off. All but Jeff Hafley’s club sport a winning record, while the Purple Gang are one of three undefeated teams remaining after five weeks of action.

There are “just” 14 games this week, and things kick off Thursday night at Denver with a visit from the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.

Take a look at 5 key numbers for Week 6

1

The Carolina Panthers lead the NFC South with a 2-2 record but are coming off some down time. Last week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got their first win of 2026 by stunning the Cowboys at Dallas in prime time. Elsewhere, the New Orleans dropped to 0-3 at the Superdome by losing to the Vikings, while the Atlanta Falcons fell at Mercedes-Benz Stadium to the Baltimore Ravens in overtime. NFC South teams are 1-9 this season at home. This week, the Falcons host the Bears and the Pittsburgh Steelers are in Tampa.

3

Last to first? Led by new head coach John Harbaugh, the New York Giants are currently the only team in the NFC East with a winning record. Big Blue’s lone setback this season was a 28-6 Monday night loss to the Rams in Week 2 at SoFi Stadium in a game where the Giants lost quarterback Jaxson Dart with a knee injury. Harbaugh’s club hosts the Saints this week and a victory would equal New York’s win total from 2025. The previous season, the Giants also finished last in the NFC East that season with a 3-14 mark.

11

That’s the number of consecutive division losses by the Tennessee Titans, who visit the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Robert Saleh’s club is one of three 0-5 teams in the league, and it’s the club’s worst start since opening 0-6 in 2009. Talk about a fall? Back in 2022, the team was seeking its fourth consecutive trip to the playoffs and got off to a strong 7-3 start. Since then and under four different head coaches, the Titans have been anything but memorable. All told, the Titans are disturbing 12-51 in their last 63 contests.

7.5

While it took the Houston Texans five weeks to get their first victory of the 2026 season, edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. has been remarkably consistent. This season, the third overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft has totaled 27 tackles and an NFL-high 7.5 sacks. The two-time Pro Bowler and 2025 First Team All-Pro has had part of a sack in each of the team’s five games this season. It’s early, but a year ago then-Browns’ defensive end Myles Garrett set the recognized league record with a combined 23 quarterback traps.

10

The Las Vegas Raiders won their first three games this season, equaling their victory total from the 2025 season. A big part of their success formula was taking advantage of their opponent’s miscues. In five outings this season, the Silver and Black have come up with 10 takeaways. That’s tied with the Minnesota Vikings for the second-most in the league and one less than the Seattle Seahawks. However, Klint Kubiak’s club forced nine turnovers during its 3-0 start, but has one takeaway in its last two games—both losses.
